Burnout

Let’s face it in one way shape or form we will all suffer from burnout. We live in a very overstimulating, instant gratifying society. There is very little time to be bored.

However, boredom is when and where we can be most creative. Burn out is so real and can be devastating to all involved.

Here are 7 ways to comeback from a Burn out

  1. Take inventory of what caused the burn out- Was it a situation? Was it a heavy work environment? Has school taken a toll on you? Has being a parent drained you?
  2. What core beliefs are associated with the cause- Was the core belief of not being enough a core belief. Did you hyperextend yourself to fit a mold that was not truly fillable? Many times we think we can do more than what is realistic.
  3. Be mindful- Slowly take inventory of what are your triggers and what your glimmers are. Triggers activate us in a variety of ways, some resulting in disconnecting behaviors. Glimmers are opportunities of hope, what brings light to your eyes.
  4. Self-care- Okay, I get it. It may feel like a huge mental health buzzword. Self-care is more than bubble baths and massages. It’s a lifestyle of how you show up for yourself in this world and how you nourish every area of yourself.
  5. Are there things that are preventable- Remind yourself that you can say no. You do not have to fill your plate past fullness. Are there situations that you could have prevented? Or are you recreating patterns?
  6. Be kind to you- Give yourself space to hold space for your emotions and the hurt you may feel. Feel out the feelings. Give yourself time to heal.
  7. Healing comes in waves- It might take a lifetime to find what healing looks like for you. Be patient with you and proceed with compassion.
