First-Generation Immigrant Trauma, Identity, Family Dynamics, and Life Transitions Therapist San Diego

Hello! I’m Natasha Jha, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego, supervised by Dr. Hedieh Azadmehr. I hold a Master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), a J.D. from UC San Francisco, and a B.A. from UC Davis. Alongside my therapy practice, I serve the community as a Certified Mediator, Breathwork Facilitator, and Reiki Master.

My approach is holistic, client-centered, and strengths-based. I deeply honor the complexity of your identity, culture, values, and lived experiences. Together, we utilize evidence-informed therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, and somatic interventions responsive to trauma. The goal is to build on your strengths, discover effective coping skills, and equip you with tools and resources that support growth, healing, and resilience.

In our sessions, we’ll create spaciousness for you to explore how your identity—your culture, community, family systems, institutions, and environment—shapes your present. I am particularly committed to working with first-generation and immigrant clients, helping those navigating life transitions, grief, relational challenges, or trauma, as well as difficult family dynamics.

As a queer, first-generation Indian-American, I’ve journeyed through cultural dualities, academic and career pressures, and complex family expectations. My lived experience fuels my passion for nurturing others through creative and expressive modalities. I also find joy in music, art, conflict resolution, and energy work. Whatever unfolds in our work together, I aim to hold a safe, compassionate, and culturally attuned space; one where healing, insight, and transformation are possible.
