Farah Al Azawi, ACSW
Arabic-Speaking Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & Life Transitions
Hello and welcome! I’m Farah Al Azawi, an Associate Clinical Social Worker. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you are carrying difficult experiences, navigating major changes, or finding yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. My goal is to create a warm and compassionate environment where we can explore these challenges together and work toward meaningful change.
I enjoy working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma related symptoms, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, stress, and life transitions. My approach is trauma informed, person centered, strengths based, and collaborative. I believe every person brings a unique history, culture, set of strengths, and way of experiencing the world, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs and goals rather than using a one size fits all approach.
In our work together, I may integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, dialectical behavior therapy DBT, mindfulness based strategies, strengths based interventions,EMDR and other evidence informed approaches.
My professional experiences have allowed me to work with people across different stages of life and in a variety of settings. My background includes providing individual and group counseling to students, supporting young adults navigating transitions toward greater independence, and working with adults experiencing a range of emotional and relational concerns. I have also provided crisis support, case management, community resource coordination, and collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Culture and identity are also very important parts of my work. Before becoming a therapist, I worked closely with immigrants and refugees, providing advocacy, community resources, and culturally responsive support. These experiences strengthened my understanding of how culture, family expectations, immigration experiences, and major life transitions can influence emotional well being. I provide therapy in both English and Arabic and welcome clients who may be navigating multiple cultures, identities, or family expectations.
I earned my Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice with Individuals and Families from Azusa Pacific University. I see therapy as a partnership. You bring your experiences, values, and strengths, and I bring clinical tools, curiosity, and support. Together, we can better understand what is contributing to the challenges you are experiencing and work toward greater emotional well being, resilience, and a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.
